Nebraska's Maxwell Otterdahl and Wisconsin's Jason Swarens took the top two spots for the United States in the men's shot put final at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Under-23 Championships at the National Stadium in San Jose, Costa Rica. Otterdahl rallied with a sixth-round mark of 63-8.25 (19.41m) to win gold, with Swarens producing a fourth-round performance of 62-5 (19.02m) to secure the silver medal for the Americans.
